I have got an idea for those whose response to the charity cheating scandal essentially boils down to "the charity runners have to work so hard to raise the required money they have no time to train so should be allowed to cheat by cutting the course." If you are really so enthusiastic about your charity, why do you have to run a marathon to raise money for it? Raise the money and train and run the marathon independently at different times of the year. Of course that would mean you would have to get into the marathon and pay your entry fee and travel expenses yourself instead of having the charity do it for you. But that would cut down on the stress that you complain about and also would avoid possibly being put into the position that you would have to lie to people who donated money to you for your charity on the basis of your running the marathon when you didn't.
