I don't have a problem with the charity runners as a group if they are trained properly, any person who goes out to run a marathon without proper training is setting themselves up to have a miserable experience and in some cases do physical harm. If someone wants to raise $$ to "play" that's ok too IF they play by the rules set up by the race and race directors. I have often talked to my friends/coach about Boston. I know I am a LONG way off to qualify to run Boston, but that's MY goal to EARN my way in. I can't for the life of me understand why someone would want to BUY their way into Boston......next people will try and buy their way into the Olympics!! I guess it has something to do with the way people are today...no one can get an F in school because they won't feel good about themselves, everyone wants everything NOW without working for it. Good old instant gratifcation. I still think alot of people are missing the point, it's not about the charity runners, it's about the people, and what they are made of!
