I just wanted to reply that I too gained about 15 pounds while training for my first marathon. (Chicago Marathon 2005) It was SO frustrating. I'm only 5'01' so that is a lot for me. The last time I gained weight like that so quickly, I was pregnant!
Anyway, it has been almost two months since the marathon and I've lost about 10 of those pounds so far.
I'm REALLY going to watch the types of food I eat next time. I'll be training again soon and I'm running in the Nashville marathon-April 2006. I don't want to gain weight again. It really messed with my head a bit. Yikes!
