I too put on a few pounds during marathon training and it's really frustrating. I eat more, but not as a direct result of training. Usually, I start sleeping less and stressing more in the final month of training. Inevitably, something interferes with my training plans and I run to food for cover.
The sleep issue and when you eat are especially important, I discovered. I run early in the morning and if I wait to eat, I eat more later in the day. Something to consider.
