One of my regrets after my first marathon is that some nagging knee pain and the cold weather got me out of my training regimen and it was three years before I ran my second (10 days ago, Steamtown marathon in PA).
I find that to stay sharp, I need an upcoming race circled on the calendar. I'm considering Richmond in three weeks. My question is this: How much recovery time should a relatively new runner allow? I ran a PR of 3:58 in Scranton, (woo-hoo!) and after some initial stiffness in my quads(stinkin downhills), I'm feeling ready to go again.
Just looking for some perspectives. Am I asking for trouble?
