The big news these days is Khalid Khannouchi - the World Record holder in the marathon. Trying to get citizenship, finding every loophole, needing the permission of the Moroccan Olympic Committee...
What a hassle! Here's a man who for years has been trying to get US citizenship. He has worked to become the athlete that he is. It seems that if a fantastic athlete/role model tries as hard as Khannouchi has to become a member of your country - we should feel proud and welcome him with open arms. Isn't that what this melting-pot is supposed to be all about?
Any other thoughts?
