Sorry for the "1/2 way there" story. Regardless, I LOVED running the marathon b/c of all the interesting people you get to meet...clearly I wasn't running to BQ. But the analogy to labor is right on the mark. You are a mother of 3 - you already have the stamina needed to finish this marathon. I didn't run my first marathon until I was 34, my twins were 2 and my daugther was 4. I was by no means in great shape and thought that doing something drastic like training for a marathon would reduce the "maternal fat stores" I have retained. I wish my body would listen when I say, "I am done having kids! - No MFS needed thanks." It is intersting to think that I probably couldn't have run a marathon before I was 34 because I didn't have the motivation to do so. When I was 17 and on the X-country team, I ran almost 12 miles a day for months. But there was no need to run a marathon. Now, as a stay-at-home-mom of 3, I have all the motivation in the world to get myself out of bed at 5am and run as far and as fast as I can AWAY from my house, kids, mess, and piles of laundry. Food for thought. Good luck!
