Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Yes, the 26 mile run was a run/walk, as one of you suspected. I didn't realize that makes so much of a difference w/regards to recovery.

The analogy to miles 20-24 being 1/2way through the race or like labor frighten me. I'm not sure if it's the 3 c-sections I've had or the daunting prospect that 20 miles is only 1/2way which got me more ;).

Thanks for your help. I'm bagging the 26 miles, went with Hal Higdon's program, and am forging ahead. Good luck to all of you!
