March 2004 I weighed 260 lbs, and although I started with a more athletic build, i was always the shotputter/weightlifter build rather than a runner.
In oct 2004, I finished my first marathon, oct 2005 my second. I dropped quite a bit of weight (some of which i put back on due to dumbness on my part) and am able to consider 4-6 miles and easy jog.
Barring injury, of course you can. (but don't try to run through injuries. wait for them to heal)
