Ok, so I've been running for about 10 years and have tried on dozens and dozens of bras. When I was in 5th grade i was already busting out of my B cup bras. The solution I found was to wear a normal bra under a sports bra. I bought a couple decent, but not too expensive bra's that had decent support. (I think the one's I use are made by Olga; i bought them at Kohl's.) I shorten the straps to the point that if I wore the bra alone it would really pull my bra up. Then I put on a small sports bra overtop. I have one by reebok and and another Nike one that I got. I tried on dozens of sports bras in many stores after my best bra finally wore through. I was trying on mediums and larges and they were SO big and I bounced all over. So I decided to just continue wearing both. I find that the regular tends to really hold your breasts up, and when you layer on top a sports bra that just barely fits, it hold thems down and I get no bounce. It stinks wearing two bras, but it's one of the pitfalls of being a D-cup I guess. For wearing certain tank tops, I also bought a fairly inexpensive racer-back bra which is completely hidden underneath my sports bras, so you don't see the reg bra straps under your sports bra.
It seems kind of weird to pair two bras like this; at least it did to me when I first saw a girl at my hs doing it before track practice. but it does kind of make sense. you need something to help hold them up and something to hold them down. I just don't think there is a bra out there that really can accomplish both things. And wearing a smaller sports bra than you usually wear helsp to really minimize bouce because it's tighter. I don't have any chaffing when I do this either, something I've never experienced when only wearing a sports bra alone.
