I have found soy to be the most effective for me. I havn't gotten to a place where HRT is necessary yet. But my doctor did put me on a low dose birht control pill to help with irregular periods. That may be having some effect perhaps. But soy milk has been great. I use it on cereal, in my coffee and tea, and I don't have the nasty night sweats like I was before. Works for me.
