"Runners For Those In Need In Iraq" -Press Release-
Runners and Multi-Sport athletes are banding together as one in 2005, under the banner of "Runners For Those In Need In Iraq".
The Mission Goal is to coordinate local & national efforts and to deliver needed items for our women and men over in Iraq who are training the local Iraq population. These items are as basic as coolmax shirts to be worn during the hot Iraq spring & summer, running shoes, racing tee shirts for Iraq children and adults, soap and toothbrushes, crayons and coloring books, cookies, news sources such as Runners World, Running Times, local and national newspapers.
There will be an initial Organized Drop-Off for all donated items with more to be scheduled on January 23, 2005 - 9:00 A.M - 12:00 Noon at the American Legion Marsh Post #442 , 5 Greenough Boulevard-Eliot Bridge Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138.
In conjunction with the Organized Drop-Off there will be a non-competitive run and walk of all distances and a complimentary brunch provided by the American Legion Marsh Post and the Somerville Striders Athletic Club.
