I ran the 8K at Shamrock Sportsfest (yup, free beer good!). One thing to keep in mind that Labor Day weekend is busy for VA Beach and rooms are booking fast. If you haven't booked already, you probably won't find the same deals right on the beach that you would during Sportsfest, held in tourist "off season" (March). The course will be flat and the biggest environmental challenge is usually the wind off the ocean. The Pavillion center is big and they seem to really be organized. (The Tidewater Striders running club is a great resource, too!) The RNR 1/2 should be a blast and I think they have people signed up from at least 48 states. Should be fun!!
