Hey Maggie, welcome to running. It wasn't that long ago (1993 in fact) that I was jogging 2 miles at roughly the same pace that you are doing now.
You recieved good advice about aiming for the 5K first. Since you are new to running, you probably haven't found your favorite distance. You might think about aiming for, say, a 10K race that is 6 months away, and do some shorter stuff first; there are beginner 10K schedules out there (say at www.halhigdon.com)
