I live in Clermont, Florida and know the type of terrain you are speaking of all to well. I am an avid backpacker and a Florida State Park Volunteer. I recently laid out all the hiking trails for Lake Louisa State Park. The forerunner ain't the tool you want for this environment. I now own both the Garmin Etrex and the Garmin Forerunner.
