Course changes frequently Ron 9/24/04 11:19:12 AM ET
I don't know whether that was taken during a previous race or along this years course. They've been tinkering with the course over the past few years based on construction in various parts of DC and security issues.
This year's course is SUBSTANTIALLY DIFFERENT. It essentially starts going in the opposite dirction, this is probably more interesting for runners but it makes it a little more daunting for spectators as the course doesn't fold over itself so much as it did.
This year runs way down to the tip of Haines Point. This can be scenic but it's also pretty bereft of spectators.
Even less noodling around in the Pentagon parking lots than in previous years (this is a good thing).
