I agree with you Buzard, I'm also tempted to let the watch rule my pace. I find myself trying to outsmart it - or at the least to get it to calculate more consistently. Did a 17 miler today and 14 miles were on a track. Discovered an interesting result - when I ran counter clockwise my pace was at least a minute slower than when I ran clockwise. In fact, the pace immediately dropped when I changed direction. I am positive I didn't change my pace. In fact, I changed direction after 10 miles and the last 7 were the faster ones. Have you had an experience to test something like this? Also found out if you travel over a 100 miles you need a longer time to pick up the GPS signal - almost 1/2 an hour.
