get a heartrate monitor

You can get a heartrate monitor with a built-in stopwatch for cheap. That'll do 2 of the 3 things you want. Distance is another issue... unless you want to spend $150+ on a specialized piece of equipment that clips to your shoe or one of the new GPS-based gadgets, the best way to deal with distance is the old fashioned way mentioned by the previous poster. Find a course that you can measure w/ your car or a bike(or roads with built-in mile markers). Some cities also put mile markers on running and bike trails; don't know where you live.

A pedometer is ok for walking, but they don't work well for running because your stride length is different. Most of the pedometers that I've seen wouldn't hold up to the jostling of running anyway (others may have a different perspective on this)
