I always had trouble finding a good pair of running shoes. I tried many different brands and I still haven't found a brand that I'm completely sold on.
A few things that I've learned along the way; make sure that you shop for shoes at the end of the day, when your feet are the largest. It sounds funny, but your feet swell throughout the day. Don't worry about the price. I have to tell myself that these shoes are just as important to me as my car, they have to take me where I need to go, and without injury! I'd rather spend $100 on a pair of shoes, then suffer from an injury later down the road. So don't worry about spending $80. Lastly, with store permission, I like to jog (or walk real fast) around the store. Sometimes shoes feel different when you run in them as opposed to just trying them on.
Happy Running!
