Definately do some hills - but I found I needed it more for the downhill than the up. I was scared about Heartbreak hill - but it was MUCH easier than I expected.
I ran it in 2001 and the weather was great! I ran in a sports bra and shorts and wore a long sleeved shirt tied around my waist. Someone had mentioned to me that the winds can be brutal at the end so it would be a good idea to keep my shirt with me. (I didn't need it, but had it been colder, I would have thanked the person!)
Training for Boston really isn't much different than training for another race - except Boston doesn't have as many logistics to worry about. You start with people who run the same time as you - and it works since they spread out the start of each group. There is water to drink everywhere - the volunteers and spectators are handing it out on the entire course - but some spectators have beer - so keep that in mind!
I actually didn't train for Boston. I ran my BQ in the fall and only kept up with my long runs, and did minimal training otherwise - like 30 miles a week! And I still managed a PR in Boston!
Most of all, have fun! Running Boston is an experience like no other.
