Wendy Chioji, a local Orlando newswoman who’s also a avid athlete (cyclist, runner, triathlete), publicized her breast cancer experiences through diary entries available on http://www.wesh.com/health/1030240/detail.html

She describes how she stayed active through her chemo treatments which ended in Nov 2001 and she ran Steamtown Marathon in Oct 2002, her 4th or 5th marathon, I think. She’s been actively involved in promoting breast cancer awareness through various ways, events, online forums, giving talks, etc. Most recently, she rode across the U.S. with Lance Armstrong and other cancer survivors on the Tour of Hope 2003 (www.tourofhope.org).

I think if you drop her an email (link available through one of her diary entries), she’d reply. She doesn’t know me, but I’m a big fan of hers. In fact, one of the best compliments I ever received during a race was to be mistaken for her.
