I saw the posting that was related to this one, but wanted some personal questions answered...
I am 21 (going to be 22 next month) and am a recovering anorexic female. After much treatment and a tremendous amount of work, I am finally up to the weight that I should be within. However, I have not had my period for two years. Originally it was because I was not eating enough along with running, but now that I have the food thing (more or less) under control, I still have not had my period. I am training for a marathon and have read that many marathon females don't get their period (I read about Grete Waitz)for many years. so is this still safe? I'm kind of scared that getting my period will mean that I'm getting too much body fat percentage and will drag down my training. I'm at a good weight now and a good body fat percentage. Should I still worry about not having my period?
Also, a side note, on days that I run I tend to eat more than my rest days in order to replenish my fuel stores. Should I eat as much on my rest days or should I eat less on the non-running days since I'm not running that day? What are your typical weekly menus like and how do they change with your running schedules? I will eat meat and love bread--no Atkins here!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
