Hi Christine,

I am also a recovered anorexic ... it didn't last too long as I had a pretty scary medical situation that scared the daylight out of me - be skinny or live ? hmm ? Anyway, when I regained weight back to a healthy weight my period came back. It took several months however. I don't remember how long because it was a long time ago (I was 15 and am now 40). My understanding is that whether you have amenorrhea (no menses) due to anorexia or because of running/too low % body fat it still has the same long term negative effects. If you are into reading medical stuff, go to www.pubmed.com and plug in amenorrhea, runner, anorexia or any combination of those words an you will probably get more medical journal articles than you ever wanted. Of course you can Google it too, but you may get a lot of junk info.

Good luck :)
