Will agree with others... you probably want something big enough that logistics (# and staffing of aid stations, course prep, etc.) aren't a worry, but so that worries/stresses of a big race (waiting around, getting in line/on pace, etc) are minimized. Go with what you like. I am averse to huge races. Some runners are more "social," loving marathoning with others and eating up crowd support. Others, like me, want organization, course profile, etc. to be favorable and #s packs of other runners can be more a hindrance to focusing on quality performance. Be sure to pick race with favorable course/weather probability/elevation, etc. It might help to do one locally or regionally so family and friends can be there and so things are more familiar (travel distance/lodging options/etc.)
