I agree with some of your suggestions; however some of the medical stuff (like, how do I cope with achilles tendonitis) is appropriate here IMHO.
Now about the "nonsense":
To be honest, it wasn't my idea to have an acrimony section, nor a fantasy section. When I went through the post, I marked many of them "inappropriate" (and yes, those included many of MY posts).
But I found that I like the idea of a "flame/fantasy" section. be advised that one of my posts was made when the title of the acrimony section had phrases such as "not for the faint of heart" and "join in as Yellowshark, Bambi, Thumper (et. al) trade insults, feats, etc." was still there.
This feature gives the more mature folks (doesn't include me :-) ) the option of skipping the BS posts that were cluttering up the "focused sections of the BB" while letting those of us who have a sick, yet semi-running related sense of humor enjoy virtual "rough-housing" and silliness.
Yeah, there are times when I really want to focus on marathoning, but, and I am ashamed to admit this, I found some of the abuse to be funny.
I know that there are sick-humor boards, but I believe that runners have certain topics that they can joke about that other folks just wouldn't get. There has been more than one time where a caustic post about me has caused me to spray my coffee onto my computer keyboard. (and, sorry Bambi, but I thought that the "Hey Bambi, get lost" post was a classic)
BTW, I'll post as "thumper" on this and the fantasy board, and as Ollie (my real name) on the more "serious" boards.
If anyone wants to talk to me about this topic off of the board, feel free.
