You've made a great start but I also agree that a Fall Marathon is too early for you to be considering doing a marathon. See www.jeffgalloway.com/training/marathon.html for an idea on what a beginning Galloway training schedule looks like. If you want to use it, I'd recommend getting the latest edition of his book entitled "Marathon!" which provides a lot more essential info that you'll need to know in order to succeed using his program.
I actually just saw Jeff Galloway tonight at a local seminar he was giving. There were many folks there who were just starting out in his program and they were targeting races in the January 04 timeframe. But if you're not comfortable increasing the mileage so quickly in the first 9 weeks (goes from 2-3 to 11-12 mi), don't, as it's liable to result in injury. Take your time and build a good base first. There'll always be more marathons to do.
