Actually, I agree with Bambi about my marathon time being "less than stellar". And, there is some truth that marathon times for the general public have slipped badly; back in 1980 my 3:33 got me the "median" place (1000/2000); in 2000 3:38 got me 91/415 (would have been much better at a mega race).
But as far as Bambi: beware of those who say "I am an expert because I have ran X marathons". BS. It is no big deal (for a person in good health) to "complete" a marathon. Bambi says he "ran" 9 marathons; it would probably be more accurate to say that Bambi "walked/jogged/shuffled" 9 marathons. If I were content to run Bambi caliber times, heck, I could probably do one every week!
