I have been a Vegan for almost 9 years and have found no issues with living a very active, athletic lifestyle. I am also training for my first Marathon and have had no issue with eating the way I normally eat. Mainly I have had to pay more attention to things like hydration, gels, power bars, etc. for the longer runs (15 plus miles). Other than that keep eating tofu, tempeh, seitan, etc.

For pre-race meals I always eat pasta for lunch and dinner for 2 days prior to a longer race/run. My favorite is spaghetti and "wheat" balls.

Anyway, just make sure you have proper hydration and that you use gels, power bars, and sports drinks for longer runs.

Good luck!
