For me, I had to force myself to get motivated for a while. After a while, I enjoyed running so much that I had to get motivated to do other things besides running. In order to 'get going' I would keep several quotes on hand and refer to them often. For example, on of them was: 'Pain is nothing compared to the emptiness of quitting.'..etc. Keep looking at running web sites - buy yourself new shoes after completing a tough race - most of all, if you feel like you have dead legs and don't enjoy running, then take a few days off.
