Mary Wittenberg and Mayor Doomberg lacked the common sense themselves to be able to make the right decision and cancel the New York Marathon three days ago and save a lot of people a lot of expense and inconvenience. The final pressure came from ING et al who did not want their names associated with a public relations disaster.
And then there are the union electrical workers who refused the help of non-union volunteer electrical workers who traveled to New York to help restore power.
I have often said that perhaps if we out here in the hinterland shut the food supply off to New York City that the humanoids there would soon learn that all of their glamour and glitter does not amount to a hill of beans when they can no longer put food in their bellies. New York ... we out here in the hinterland control you. You are the weak link in the system. take that into your souls.
