I ran Niagara Falls on Sunday Oct 21 to try for a 2014 Boston entry, as Boston by then had closed for 2013. Didn't quite do it fast enuf to guarantee peace of mind over the next 11 months, but I imagine I'm not alone.
Aside from the training error of under estimating the effects of wind and dead flat course, I really enjoyed the run. Got to wait in a great art museum at the start in Buffalo, then over the Peace Bridge, and along the river to the falls. Windy, yes, but the bad weather rolled thru the night before, leaving a great fall day to run. And for a smaller run, I thought the aid stations were well done. Almost nailed a few clueless walkers at the narrow finish, which would have given me more to worry about than my 47 seconds, so I'm telling myself to suck it up buttercup, and try again in the spring (with more strength training), or test fate in September. But truth be told, I see myself trolling the internet until then searching for articles predicting the cut time.
