I am still doing Ridge Runner next Saturday, but having been slowed recently by nagging plantar fasciitis in my left foot and compensatory IT band soreness on my right side that developed during my last long run two weeks ago, and also having gotten a good look at last year's finishing times for RR ... I think sub- 4:00 will be a stretch for me, given the very hilly course. So let's just say my goal there is finishing strong and knocking off another state on the push to 50+DC. And instead of Clarence DeMar on 9/ 29, I'm now shooting for Ocean State on 10/13, where they'll be running the marathon entirely within the city of Providence for the first time. I think sub-4:00 is a realistic goal for that. Beyond that, I'm also looking at Kiawah Island, SC, in mid- December, although I'm worried about the fact they haven't yet updated their website for the 2002 race.
Thanks for keeping this current, calgaryrunner.
