Even the most lay runner or novice knows that any race you run, it is documented forever; FOR EVER. Slow, fast, DNF—it's permanent—in this information/internet age, it's naive and clueless to think you'll get away with any embellishment of performance—fast times are likely to be questioned and called out on. A sub-3 marathon performance begs for more query. Ryan, simply completing a marathon, at any pace, would have given you kudos—overstating your time has greatly diminished your accomplishment.
