I decided for who knows what reason two weeks ago to run a marathon. Before that I'd never run further than two 5ks I did (without training) that I couldn't even run the entire time for. I only had nine weeks to train and have put together a plan running 5 days a week 3 mi MWF, from 4 up to 8 Tues and long runs on Sat. Because I only had 9 weeks I started long runs at at going up to 1 at 20 and tapering down two weeks with my long runs at 15 two weeks before and 10 the week before the marathon. I just made this up based on schedules I saw online. Does the general schedule seem OK? I have no idea about tapering in particular - am I dropping off too much/not enough or too early/too late? Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks!
