Hey all you amateur marathoners—that's 99.9% of us—help stop this madness. With Competitor/Rock 'n Roll races and now New York, you've got to make a conscious decision of where to spend your entry fees—speak with your wallets. There are HUNDREDS of better- staged and better-valued races out there. Please support them. Support your local races—that's what they are: races and not spectacles. No race is worth these ridiculous fees—and that's before shoes, training gear, lodging, travel, food, souvenirs, etc. Even the monster Boston and Chicago races look like absolute bargains compared to NY. Time to take a stand.
