During a marathon I eat a PowerGel every ten kilometers (which means I carry three - in the triathlon it's two, one at the beginning and one at the end of the bike leg). I drink a sports drink only fater the half. I met a guy last weekend who is also going to run Boston (he usually does ultras). He told me he intends on 'loading' very 15 minutes alternating between Gels and Gatorade. If he is to run in 3 hours that means 6 gels and 6 drinks of Gatorade. That seems like a LOT!
