No blood, but these new shoes sure did rub the heck out of my medial right first MTPJ. I could not run in them, even after trying them on some short, break-in type runs. So I converted them to kick-around and work shoes. After about 2-3 weeks of using them in this fashion, I tried running in them again - no problems.

I think you need to try a different pair for speed work for a while, letting the new shoes break-in on your regular runs.

Also- take good care of the blister/rubbed area, so as not to get an infection.
