Hello! I am about one month out from my marathon and am experiencing some pain in my right heel/ankle. I have been building pretty high mileage and at the beginning of this week I badly bruised some ribs while water skiing=(. I was still able to run but slower since deep breathing is painful. I was running some very steep uphills/downhills and I think that is what caused my heel/ankle to begin to hurt??? The pounding of the downhills??? I had a 20 miler planned for today but could only manage 6 at a pathetically slow 9.45 pace.=( I guess I will cut out this 20 miler and just try to get in one more about 2.5 weeks from my marathon. ANy idea what I can do about my heel/ankle? Advice? Tips? Thanks!
