Thanks for inquiring!!

I finished in 5 hours, 42 minutes and 55 seconds, 7 minutes ahead of my "goal" of 5 hours 50 minutes as the race had a 6-hour limit. I stuck with my plan but could have gone faster the last third but there was another first-time runner in distress and I elected to stay with her (from mile 14 one) and bring her to the finish with me.

It was a cold, wet, windy day. As much of my training was outdoors in the Minnesota winter I was somewhat prepared, but when your gear is all wet it is another matter. My wife was there at numerous intersections with dry clothes and that helped me immensely.

303 runners registered, and 244 completed it, so 60 runners either didn't show or didn't finish. One 35-year old runner crossed the finish line with a BQ time and then tragically collapsed and later died. Of course that put a real damper on the day, and should remind all of us that run that we are putting a lot of stress on our bodies to do what most consider to be impossible.
