Set Back Weeks, or Straight Progression?

I'm a rookie preparing for my first marathon in mid- May. For my last 5 weeks of training, will I benefit from having "set back" weeks every other week (Hal Higdon's porgram) more than if I had gradual increases every other week as is indicated in the marathonrookie.com plan?
