Hello everyone! I'm a newbie to running, though I have been doing cardio workouts 5 - 7 times a week for the past couple of months. I've lost 16 pounds total putting me at a current weight of 132 and I am noticeably gaining muscle. I'm 23, have a beautiful 2 year old boy, and am a full time college student. I'm currently contemplating my first half marathon which will be at the end of October. I suppose I'm just wondering if you veterans out there think this will be possible for me. I was amped about it at first, but some people are telling me this is over ambitious and I should shoot for a 5 to 10k first. What is your opinions?
