What's your reason for running New York?

If you're going to New York to have fun - to be a tourist and see the city in a way most people cannot - then relax. Seven weeks is long enough that you can run another one, but likely not race it well.

Given the crowd at New York, and the terrain, you should not expect a stellar time in any case, which may be a great argument for saying that it is a classic tourist run. Lots of participants treat it that way.

If you want to do something indulgent like this, you will have company. Think of those trying to do the 50 State thing. You don't get there by running a marathon every six months. There are programs for those who want to run back to back marathons. I like those in Pfitzinger and Scott, Advanced Marathoning (or some similar title).

Regards
