So I signed up for the LA Marathon, which takes place on March 20th. After doing research (after the fact), I have found that you should allow approximately 4-6 months to prepare. I have 2 1/2 months to prepare. Since I havent really ran in over a year and gained about 20 lbs since then, i am concerned that I might be over my head. I have been running for over a week now (3-4 times per week) and my 10k time is roughly 1 hour and 6 minutes.
Is this realistic for me to run this Marathon before I buy airline tickets. I thought a destination Marathon would get me motivated to run and regain my normal size. Should have done more research before I committed. By the way, this is my first marathon. Longest distance I have ran is a 10K.
