I have read in several locations the benefits of speed training but little as to whom it will benefit. I am pushing 56(will have to change name soon) PR'd in Oct with a 3:41. I would like to break 3:30 someday. I have done well with mileage reaching +50 for the last 4 weeks of training, hill and Lactate threshold runs. I am concerned about the risks I have read associated with speed drills. Will speed training help me at my level and age? And if so any suggestions as to where to get good information.
