It's very possible for some people to be over- training on just 30 miles a week. It takes years for an athlete to incrementally scale up to the demands of higher mileage. Rush that progression too fast and injuries arise — some chronically. At that point you become Exhibit A of Bill Rodgers' classic quote: "The marathon will humble you"
Marathoning is not for impatient people. And it's not for people unwilling to grasp and apply scientific principals in their weekly training.
