when to get a massage depends on why you are getting one... and what kind you get.

When I was training hard, with a coach, track twice a week (trying to BQ) I got a massage every week with a sports specialist who helped to loosen up tight muscles and actually gave me stretches & strengthening exercises to help prevent the next issue from becoming a problem. Now I get one a few days after a marathon to just be sure everything is working right before I jump back into training. So with your last long run done and since it doesn't seem like you have another reason for getting a massage I would do it this week, get the last of your training kinks out and give your body enough time to get over any deep muscle issues the massage might turn up. If you were just getting s 'fluff and buff' massage you could do it the week before the marathon, but unless you know your therapist & you know what your body can take I'd say better safe then sorry and therefore, sooner than later... -Rita
