I injured my tibiofibular joint during my last long run 1 1/2 weeks ago and developed some hip bursitis as well. I've taken it easy since and tried to run yesterday and I can still feel some discomfort. I am going to continue to take it real easy for the next week or so and not do any running until maybe next monday before the marathon where hopefully I should be better and I can try a few easy runs before the chicago marathon.
My question is what should I expect come marathon day??? How greatly will this time off affect me???
Obviously this happened right when I was going to begin tapering but had no choice but to cut back a lot more than usual. Anyone else go thru anything similar before??
