After giving WannabeRunner all the great advice from my proffs re: IT band, I've managed to get sidelined with something that's acting very simmilar, but slightly different. It's a sharp, shooting pain on the lateral aspect on my knee, sometimes referring down into the peroneal insertion on the fibula. Aches sometimes during the day, espcially after sitting with my knee bent. Feels better in the AM and after riding my bike, but starts tightening up after running or walking.
Ran eight miles yesterday at slow (relativly speaking) pace. Didn't hurt for the first six, then started aching deep inside the joint and along the lateral edge. After i finished running, there was a sharp stabbing every time I bent my knee. The pain died down to a dull roar by the time I went to bed, but I'm really not liking this.
I've been doing some soft tissue tech. in the evening, US/ES in the am before class and ice massage when I remember to. It felt like it was getting better, but now it's aching again. :( Life is so not fair. I was just starting to run easily again after my marathon and now this comes along.
