When I was in the military, that is what I was given -- motrin/advil -- b/c as WB Runner states, it is (somehow) better in re "muscle-related" pain.
I also use a product called "Aleve." It is naproxin (some "new fangled" medicine). A friend recommended it to me as a "long-acting" pain reliever, and I take one after the run. Yes, I know, I'm not a real runner I take pain relievers (smile) but it helps me to walk the next day :-)
As you said, aspirin does stop the coagulating factor in your blood or makes it "runnier" -- probably not what you want in your Antifreeze Blood environment -- brrrrrrrr!!! You go CR, you are doing so great!
