I ran the half-marathon in Nashville last weekend. Over the last four month I have trained for the full marathon following The Non-Runners Marathon Trainer. It is a wonderful guide for non-runners like myself. It was also nice to follow the stories of others who were somewhat in the same boat as I was. On the day of the race, the weather turned for the worse and many marathon runners were diverted to the half-marathon. I would like to run a marathon next month in Vermont. However, as suggested, I started tapering a few weeks before the race. I have the following two questions: (1) Is it too soon to run the marathon? and (2) If it is not too soon, how do I train for the next month?
